The first game I played made me cry. It's titled "Under a Star called Sun" and it was created by cecile richard. The game changed my perception on how games can be played and experienced. I was essentially reading a story as I progressed through the game and I felt really immersed in the environment. I had control over the character and as I interacted with elements of the game, I uncovered more of the story. The 8-bit retro style gives a nostalgic feeling and the simplicity of the gameplay allows for a intimate experience with the narrative aspect of the game.
The second game I played was an interesting departure from the first game and narrative games in general. This game is titled "HYPER*GOBLIN*FORTUNE*TELLER" and it was created by Grey. Instead of progressing through a world, the whole game is this interaction with the goblin fortune teller and each time a card is pulled, a different fortune is read. I thought the concept and mechanics were simple, yet effective in immersion. It was lighthearted and I was intrigued to see what other cards would say and what fortune will be read to me by the goblin, so it kept me playing the game.
